This Cookie Policy explains how Coached To Scale™ uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website or use our services.
It lists what we actually use, what each one is for, and how to say no. For everything else about your data, see our Privacy Policy.
1.What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites function properly, remember preferences, improve performance, and provide analytics or advertising insights.
Cookies may be temporary (session cookies) or remain on your device for a longer period (persistent cookies). Similar technologies, such as your browser's local storage, work in much the same way, and this policy covers them too.
2.What We Use and Why
- ·Form drafts: while you fill in an application or entry form, your browser keeps your answers on your device (local storage) so you can carry on if you leave. They are cleared when you submit.
- ·Your referral link: on our affiliate page, your browser remembers the link you entered so you do not have to type it again.
- ·Our members area and checkout run on Kajabi, which uses cookies for login, security and checkout.
These do not need your consent, because the site cannot do what you asked without them.
We use Google Analytics only for statistics: to count visits and see how our site is used, so we can improve it. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by our ID, which last up to 2 years. They record pages visited, time on page, device and browser type, where you came from and your general region.
Google acts as our processor under its data processing terms. Google's own data sharing, Google signals and its advertising features are switched off, and we do not use it to measure ads or to follow individual people. UK law allows analytics used only for statistics without asking first, as long as we tell you and you can switch it off for free. It is on by default, and you can switch it off here:
Your analytics setting
Switch them off and neither Google Analytics nor the Meta pixel loads on our site, and their cookies are deleted. It only takes one click and it is free.
When it is off, Google Analytics does not load on this site at all and its cookies are deleted. The same switch turns off the Meta pixel too (below). Your choice is stored in a small cookie of our own, c2s_analytics, for 13 months, and applies to this browser on this device. Our other apps on coachedtoscale.com addresses use Google Analytics set up the same way but do not follow this switch yet; until they do, use the controls in section 4.
We use the Meta pixel, a small piece of code from Meta, to measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram. It runs when you visit our site, unless you have switched it off (below).
It sets Meta's cookies on our site: _fbp, a random ID for your browser, which lasts 90 days, and _fbc, which is only set if you arrive by clicking one of our ads and keeps that click's ID for 90 days. If you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram in the same browser, Meta can also recognise you through its own cookies on those sites.
It tells Meta which pages of our site you visit and, when you send an application, that it was sent and through which form. The pixel itself never sends your answers, your name, your email address or your phone number. Your browser also passes Meta the technical details any website receives, such as your IP address, browser and device.
Meta uses this to show us how our ads perform and to help us improve them, and also for its own purposes, including choosing who sees ads (ours and others') on Facebook and Instagram. For collecting and sending that information, Meta and we are joint controllers under an agreement that sets out who does what: we give you this information, and Meta handles your rights over the data it holds once it is sent (see Meta's privacy policy at facebook.com/privacy/policy).
To switch it off, use the switch above, which turns off Google Analytics and the Meta pixel together, or the "Analytics and ads" link at the bottom of our pages. When it is off, the pixel does not load on our site and its cookies are deleted. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, manage ad choices at youronlinechoices.eu, and choose how Meta uses your information for ads in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences (Accounts Centre).
Our main video plays through YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube says views in this mode are not used to personalise your YouTube experience, but its player may still store information on your device when it loads or plays. Some of our pages show videos through Loom, whose player may set its own cookies. These providers control their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
We also count visits ourselves, without cookies: the code that lets us count a visitor once a day is deleted within three days, only daily totals are kept, for 25 months, and Google Analytics is unchanged. One small cookie, owner, is only ever set on our own team's browsers, so we do not count ourselves.
Our own cookie. If you arrive from one of our ads, the link carries tags saying which campaign and ad it was, and Meta's click ID. With "Analytics and ads" on, we keep them in this cookie for up to 90 days so that if you apply on a later visit, we can still see which ad brought you. With it off, nothing is stored in your browser and they are only kept for the page you are on. Switching it off deletes the cookie. When you apply, they are kept with your application (see our Privacy Policy, section 9).
3.Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are placed by third-party services built into our website. These providers control their own cookies under their own privacy policies. They are:
- ·Google (Analytics, and YouTube for our video)
- ·Kajabi (members area and checkout)
- ·Loom (videos on some pages)
- ·Meta (the Meta pixel, for measuring and improving our ads)
4.How to Control Cookies
You can control or disable cookies through:
- ·Your browser settings
- ·Device privacy settings
- ·Content or tracker blockers
To switch off Google Analytics and the Meta pixel on our site, use the switch in section 2 or the "Analytics and ads" link at the bottom of our pages. To stop Google Analytics on every site you visit, you can use Google's opt-out browser add-on. For ads, you can also use youronlinechoices.eu and your ad preferences in Facebook or Instagram.
Please note that disabling essential cookies may affect website functionality. Blocking analytics or advertising cookies does not.
5.Consent
Google Analytics is used for statistics only, which the law allows without asking first. The Meta pixel runs when you visit our site, as described in section 2. You can switch both off at any time with the switch in section 2, and they stay off in this browser for 13 months. The video players above can store information on your device when the page loads; if you would rather they did not, block third-party cookies in your browser.
6.Data Collected Through Cookies
Information collected through cookies may include:
- ·IP address
- ·Browser type
- ·Device information
- ·Usage activity
- ·Referring websites
- ·General location data
- ·Ad interactions
For more information on how we process personal data, please see our Privacy Policy.
